This accessibility statement applies to the portfolio website at www.wavecraftart.co.uk

Our Commitment
I want my portfolio to be welcoming and accessible to everyone. This website was built using Wix, utilising its built-in accessibility tools to follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards as closely as possible.

Built-In Accessibility Features

Because this site runs on Wix, it includes the following built-in technical features:

  • Keyboard Navigation: You can navigate the entire site sequentially using the Tab key.

  • Visual Focus Indicators: Clear rings or outlines appear around buttons and links when using keyboard navigation.

  • Screen Reader Readiness: The site structure uses semantic HTML components so screen readers can interpret the layout.

  • Smart Focus: Wix pop-ups and menus automatically grab user focus to prevent navigation confusion.

Custom Optimisations

In addition to the Wix framework, I have manually configured the site to ensure:

  • All project images and gallery items include descriptive alt text.

  • The contrast between text and background colours meets recommended readability ratios.

  • Heading tags (H1, H2, H3) are arranged in a logical, hierarchical order.

Known Limitations

Wix relies on automatic scripts that can occasionally cause minor delays for screen readers. Additionally, third-party apps added through the Wix App Market may not fully comply with accessibility guidelines.
